The largely unsung women of Macquarie Street left their mark on early Sydney and on its later history. Some dressed wounds, donned wigs or trod the boards. Others mixed potions, wrote books or learnt how to be ‘dutiful wives’. There were artists and archivists, convicts and countesses, orphans and opera singers, pilferers and philanthropists. Come and discover some of their remarkable stories on this walk down Macquarie Street. Leader: Beatrice Scheepers
