Cancer Council - 7 Bridges Walk - 25 October

Sydney u3a members looking for a meaningful way to get active and give back this spring may want to mark Sunday 25 October 2026 in their diaries. If you enjoy walking, the Cancer Council’s 7 Bridges Walk – part or all of the 28 km - may be for you.

You may prefer to volunteer. Behind the scenes, the event relies on more than 300 volunteers to run smoothly. Roles on the day include:

  • Course Marshal – guiding participants along the route
  • Village Ticket Scanner – checking participants in and handing out event guides
  • Bridge Stamp Point Crew – stamping walkers’ passports and cheering them on
  • across each bridge
  • Event Team Assistant – helping with set-up and general support

Shifts run for a minimum of five hours, with two shift times available on the day, so there’s flexibility to fit around other commitments. It’s a friendly, sociable way to spend a spring Sunday outdoors, meet fellow volunteers, and support a cause that touches nearly every family.  Interested?  Read more here...
